Working out is important for all of us. However, having the right nutrition after working out is as important. The foods that you eat after a workout play an important role on your muscle repair and recovery. We all know that it can cooking is the least favorite thing that you would wish to do after a workout. However, it is a must plus you can easily find post workout recipes that are quite easy to prepare. Here are three of them:


Curried Egg Salad



Egg salads are nutritious but definitely boring. With this revised egg salad recipe, your taste buds will surely be asking for more of this healthy recipe.


What you will need:

  • 1 boiled egg
  • ½ tsp of mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp scallions
  • 1 tsp relish
  • ½ tsp curry powder
  • 2 slices wheat bread
  • sea salt and pepper to taste


What you should do:

Boil egg well. Peel the boiled egg and place it in a small bowl. Mash it well. Add all the other ingredients (except salt, pepper and bread). Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Toast the bread. Place the resulting salad on the toasted wheat bread. Top with pepper, salt and the second slice of bread.



Tuna Salad Pita



Tuna salads are classic post workout meals as the tuna contains the proteins needed to help the body recover a lot faster. This is an easy to prepare tuna salad recipe on a pita wrap!

What you will need:

  • 2 whole wheat pitas
  • 1 canned tuna in water
  • juice from 2 lemons
  • 2 tsp of olive oil
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • ½ cup of red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • add salt and pepper to taste


What you should do:

Drain the tuna water and place the tuna in a bowl. Add in lemon juice and olive oil. Stir well. Add the onion, bell pepper as well as parsley. Add pepper and salt to taste. Use this to top pita bread.


Stir-Fry Veggie



Vegetables contain nutrients that are important to the body. This is most especially true after a workout, when the body has depleted all of its nutrients. Take a look at this fuss-free veggie recipe, perfect as a post- work out meal.


What you will need:

  • Mixed veggies (anything you  can find in your pantry): carrots, broccoli, bell pepper, onions, celery, bok choy and soy beans.
  • Olive oil
  • butter
  • Quinoa


What you need to do:

Heat butter over medium heat. Pour a bit of oil. Add the onions and stir until it turned white and transparent. Add the rest of the vegetables. Cook quinoa according to the directions given. It will just take a few minutes. Once cooked, place some quinoa on a plate. Top it off with the vegetables.
