Foods That Are Toxic For Your Liver!

Humans should show more concern for what they eat, if so, they would be fewer intakes of those food items that should definitely be avoided. The following list of foods is some of the foods that should be skipped on the menu, in order to keep your liver happy-go-lucky!

 

1. Shrimp

I know what you’re thinking, but yes, imported shrimp is one of the items that should be eliminated from your meal. Imported shrimp is one of the dirtiest foods that contain a residue from chemicals that are used to clean pens, antibiotics, and a variety of insect and animal parts, oh and E. coli. Aside of the information mentioned above, less than 2% of imported seafood is inspected prior to selling.

There is one more problem with sifting for the right shrimp to eat; 90% of the shrimp that is sold in the United States is imported, kind of makes you want to just stop the shrimp eating altogether. The domestic products that we have are here by way of the Gulf of Mexico or Oregon. These products are strict guidelines of the Marine Stewardship Council and are safer for the liver!

If you’re out in a seafood restaurant with the family and the waiter or manager isn’t aware of where the shrimp comes from, choose something else from the menu.

 

2. Potatoes

Before you start starving yourself because of the list so far, let me go into more details! The non-organic potatoes are the ones you should be concerned with. If you need proof of this then stick a non-organic potatoes under your sink for a few days. If the world was falling to pieces and you had to start growing your own crops, you would not survive long by depending on potatoes that don’t sprout.

Non-organic potatoes are treated with fungicides and sprayed with multiple herbicides that kill the vines before harvesting. We are all in the habit of washing our vegetables before cooking, but with non-organic potatoes that would be a waste of water; these potatoes have already absorbed all chemicals. Imagine the future of chemical warfare consisting of soldiers throwing non-organic potatoes at each other. It is rumored that farmers don’t even eat the potatoes that they sell; instead they have a separate stash of organic potatoes that they make feast of. Organic potatoes are generally more expensive, but it offers you a non-glow-in-the-dark liver. Which price would you prefer to pay more for?

 

3. Tomatoes

Can those canned tomatoes; they’re no good for you. Tin cans are lined with bisphenol-A, which is an estrogen-like chemical that creates multiple medical problems; bisphenol-A causes hormone disruption. Not only does this synthetic chemical create problems, but so does the acid that is carried in tomatoes that leech into your food.

 

4. Microwave Popcorn

A couple of years ago there was a disease called popcorn lung. Popcorn lung was a concern to those that ate lots of microwaveable popcorn. Microwave popcorn used to contain diacetyl, a chemical that released in the air once a fresh bag of popcorn was opened, after microwaving. The inhaler of this chemical would be exposed to having scarred lungs, over time. Most companies, including Orville, stopped using the chemical. Now the concern is with the bags themselves. The popcorn bag is coated with a chemical, perflurooctinoic that prevents oils from soaking through; also keeps the bag fire resistant.

If you need to eat popcorn while watching the latest movie, get one of those twistable popcorn machines and add coconut oil; pop your own corn and then coat it with grass-fed butter.

 

5. Atlantic Salmon

If you are an avid, Atlantic Salmon eater, you should pay close attention to this. Wild Atlantic Salmon is perfect and okay to eat, if you can find it. It is actually illegal to capture this kind of fish due to the low count that exists. So, with that being said, if you are in the grocery store and fish market, buying Atlantic Salmon, then I’m sorry to say this, but these fish are farm raised; bad news. Farm raised salmon are fed soy, poultry litter, and hydrolyzed chicken feathers. Due to the farming raising habits, these fish have higher contaminants like dioxin, PCBs, DDT, flame retardants, and assorted carcinogens.

One more thing that you should know about these salmon is that these farm-raised salmon are often exposed to sea lice; to prevent this plague, it is often necessary to use antibiotics and other pesticides. When you eat this fish, you are essentially eating the same chemicals.

 

6. Gluten-Free Baked Goods

Don’t get psyched into thinking that you are doing your body justice when you buy gluten-free goods. The truth is that the gluten-free baked goods (i.e. crackers, cookies, and bread) are filled with more artificial ingredients and chemicals than the gluten versions.

 

7. Soy

Soy is certainly not what you want to intake, at all. Soy has been known to kill sperm cells, which decreases your testosterone; also enhances body fat accumulation. A recent discovery reveals that all soy additives are processed with chemical hexane, with causes birth defects and other reproductive problems; these additives are high carcinogenic.
