Getting Ripped In 7 Days Before A Vacation


One of our twitter followers @James_Parsons7, asked us how to get leaner in 7 days. He planned on going on vacation and wanted to get leaner and more defined looked before relaxing in the sun.


DAYS 1-3

The goal is to deplete stored carbs. Without carbs, your body will have to burn fat instead. Shoot to take in 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight each day. It should come from fish, chicken, eggs, and protein drinks. Pair that with 80 grams of high-quality carbs (that means oatmeal and fibrous vegetables, not sugar or white bread) plus 50 grams of fat. Take 1 tbsp flax oil and 6 grams fish oil (this will supply you with about 20 grams of healthy fat), and get the rest through foods like nuts, eggs, and fish. Drink at least 150 ounces of water every day.


With your carb stores depleted, the enzymes that help your body store carbs become more active. That means your body is ready to soak up as many carbs as it can. Cut your protein intake down to 1 gram per pound of body weight and raise your carb consumption to 200 grams a day, taking in most of this day’s carbs within two meals following your weight training (baked potatoes and sweet potatoes are ideal choices). Continue drinking 150 ounces of water a day, along with 50 grams of fat from sources such as flax and fish oils.


You’ll now begin the process of maintaining muscle size while “drying” out your body slightly, which will help your muscles get that shrink-wrapped look. Continue eating I gram of protein per pound of body weight and 400 grams of carbs (again, potatoes and sweet potatoes are good). Since you’re looking to lose water weight, restrict [H.sub.2]O intake to 80 ounces. (Continue your flax and fish oil intake as before, still aiming for 50 grams of fat total.)

DAY 6 & 7

On Day 6, eat the same amount of protein and carbs as on Day 5, and cut your water down to 45 ounces. Take 6 grams of fish oil. This should be the only isolated fat you eat. Avoid training or any activity that would cause you to sweat–just take it easy. On Day 7, follow the Day 6 nutrition plan, and after the unveiling, drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. If you’re partying on the beach, playing sports, or doing anything else that will make you sweat, be sure to drink as much water as you need. Now lose the shirt, go out and reap your reward!
