Matt Stonie Wins Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, Beats 8 time Record Holder Joey Chestnut

After that competition, we’re stuffed! So is Matt ‘The Megatoad’ Stonie, who took home the title after winning the 2015 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4. Matt beat Joey Chestnut and all other challengers by eating 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes!

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn — Matt Stonie pulled off a huge upset in Coney Island, eating 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes and beating 8 time champ Joey Chestnut.

Matt Stonie beat out several competitors to take the win, joining defending champ Miki Sudo of Las Vegas who took the women’s competition, who downed 38 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

Stonie ends Chestnut’s streak of 8 straight wins, beginning in 2007. Chestnut still holds the all time record of 69 hot dogs and buns consumed in 10 minutes. Chestnut originally set his goal to eat 70 dogs this year, but only managed 60.

Stonie is the 2nd ranked competitive eater in the world and holds records for eating massive amounts of birthday cake, gyros, bacon and Twinkies.
