The bodybuilding world loss Larry Scott, the first-ever winner of the Mr. Olympia competition. Larry was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2010 and passed away from compilations at the age of 75 years old, on March 8, 2014.
We received the news that Larry Scott has died at the age of 75 years.He was the first winner of the Mr. Olympia, for which there was in 1965 a prize of 1000 USD. In 1966 he won the title again before the also deceased Sergio Oliva took over the reins.
Larry Scott began at the age of 16 with the bodybuilding and won with 23 the Mr. America. Two years later, in 1964, he won the Mr. Universe in itself.
Originally he was told a rather poor potential for bodybuilding after, as he had very narrow shoulder bone. He became known for his elongated bicep, which was shaped like a football.For this development, he made a practice called “preacher” developed by Vince Gironda responsible, but by Larry only gained real fame and now generally known under the name “Scott Curl”.
We met Larry on the beach in Miami Beach in 2011, and even in old age, was obvious that he stayed true to the sport as before.
