What To Eat Before & After Your Workout

Eating the right food before your workout you can actually maximize your workout as well as give you tons of energy throughout the day. By making sure our bodies get enough nutrients pre and post workout actually helps to keep your immune systems functioning and our blood sugar levels more stable throughout the day. What this basically means if you usually exercise on an empty stomach, you’re not fueling your body properly.

Morning Workout

You should eat  about 30 minutes of waking up so you can kick start your metabolism. Try having a small bites of oatmeal or half a banana. Having something is your system is better than nothing.

Afternoon Workout

Try eating a light snack if you are hungry before your workout. Just as mentioned for the morning workouts try having  a small bowl of oatmeal, a banana, apple slices with peanut butter or a protein shake.

Post Workout
Eat something within 30 minutes of your workout so your body doesn’t start burning muscle. Its very important to fuel your body with some type of protein like  some almonds or a protein shake. Then after eat small meals every 3 hours throughout day. Even If you’re not hungry, you should at least eat a small snack. By doing this you will prevent yourself from overeating due to you waiting too long to eat.

Try avoiding foods that are high in fat and anything spicy before working out to avoid feeling lazy and getting an upset stomach. It’s very important to make sure you are very hydrated before you hit the gym. Try to drink at least 2 to 3 cups of water a couple of hours before you workout. Than after you workout, stay hydrated to replace all the water you sweated out during your workout.
