With what can only be described as an “intriguing” formulation—this Alpha Prime Review puts this supposed testosterone booster under the spotlight.
It’s not unusual for a bodybuilding supplement to make incredible claims. Sometimes they can be proven to be true—but more often than not, they’re nothing more than sales speak.
You know what I’m getting at, right?
Suspicion is further raised when you examine the nutrition label and the ingredients aren’t exactly what you expect them to be.
The truth is, scientific advancements are made every day. The best T-boosters can yield phenomenal results on our training—and it’s possible that new and surprising T-enhancing compounds have been discovered.
Listen up.
This Alpha Prime Review strips back the hype and science fluff. It examines whether this testosterone booster is worth your time—or better consigned to the trash bin.
Hold on tight bro, this could be a rocky ride.
Alpha Prime Review

Before we get down to what’s under the hood in this Alpha Prime Review, here’s a brief outline of this supplement.
Alpha Prime is made by the Australian based ATP Science, formed back in 2010—although they do have a base within the USA. These guys make numerous nutritional supplements both for general health improvement and the bodybuilding community.
Its motto is—results, not excuses. Later in this Alpha Prime review, we’ll see if this is true.
Alpha Prime + (the plus denoting the newest formulation) is touted to be a testosterone booster. As such, it’s designed to naturally elevate the body’s store of this essential anabolic hormone.
ATP Science places heavy emphasis in its marketing blurb to state that this supplement improves the androgen to estrogen ratio.
In short—elevate testosterone and lower estrogen levels.
The guys behind this supplement promise that it will improve the following symptoms, said to be caused by having too much estrogen:
- Worry and stress.
- Useless short term memory.
- Craving sugar and chocolate.
- Bloated abdomen.
- Interrupted sleep.
- Poor muscle definition and mass.
- Excessive fat stores.
As you can see from the above list, this testosterone booster appears to be angled more at those seeking the health benefits of elevated testosterone—rather than those looking to make bodybuilding gains.
Let’s get down to business in this Alpha Prime Plus review and see how it aims to function.
How Does Alpha Prime Work?
As already mentioned in this Alpha Prime review, this testosterone booster claims to improve the androgen to estrogen ratio.
Irrespective of whether this supplement works, this ratio is important.
As we age, our testosterone levels naturally decline. This elevates the power of the female hormone estrogen.
Not only can this have the negative health implications of promoting heart disease, depression, infertility, and erectile dysfunction—but it can also screw up our training.1 2 3 4
Testosterone is anabolic—it helps to build muscle through protein synthesis. Conversely, estrogen is catabolic—it prevents muscle growth.5
Alpha Prime claims to improve this testosterone to estrogen balance by:
- Estrogen detoxification—lowering concentrations of this female hormone.
- Blocking estrogen receptors—rendering estrogen impotent.
- Elevating levels of both testosterone and DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone).
- Lowering stress to inhibit the muscle-killing hormone cortisol.6
It’s an unusual approach for a testosterone booster. But, theoretically, it could work.
This depends on one factor—the formulation. Time to strip back this supplement in this Alpha Prime review and see what it contains.
Alpha Prime Ingredients
Looking at the Alpha Prime ingredients pictured above—it reads more like a grocery shopping list than a serious bodybuilding supplement.
All ten of its ingredients are included in a 1000 mg proprietary mix broken down into three “distinct” blends. All of which have impressive-sounding names—but in fact mean little at all. Here’s the translation.
- ATP Science Sulforaphane NRF2—sulfur from veggies.
- ATP Science Estrogen Detox Cofactor—lowers estrogen.
- ATP Science Clean Natural Excipient—inactive substances.
The last “blend” is quite amusing. It’s the stuff in the supplement usually referred to as “other ingredients”—the compounds that make up the capsule, color, and flavor. But hey, give it a fancy name and guys will think it’s “science”.
What’s equally unimpressive is the proprietary blend. None of the compounds are quantified. So, it’s impossible to judge their efficacy—even if they’re proven T-boosters.
Basically, the supplement hides its dosages. A little suspicious, yeah?
Anyway, here are the ingredients (excluding the inactive substances).
Broccoli Powder
There’s some evidence that consuming broccoli can work to reduce levels of the testosterone inhibiting 16α-hydroxyestrone estrogen by promoting 2α-hydroxyestrone. This can help to reduce “female” fat accumulation.7
While this is naturally beneficial, the difference is minimal to make any great effect on the testosterone-estrogen ratio.
Kale
Contains flavonoids which, as phytoestrogen compounds, may act to lower total estrogen levels. 8
Daikon Radish
As with Kale, phytoestrogens in the radish could lower bodily estrogen—although there appears no consensus on how much should be ingested to have any effect.9
Rosemary
Studies have indicated that rosemary can inhibit the action of estrogen—in mice.10
Orgen-FA (Lemon Peel Extract)
This ingredient is another name for folic acid—which I guess sounded too uninspiring for this supplement.
Folic acid deficiency is associated with erectile dysfunction—but appears to have little effect on testosterone.11
Kelp
A seaweed extract that may prevent testosterone aromatizing into estrogen.12
Tongkat Ali
An ingredient which can elevate testosterone levels. However, experts have concluded this appears only to be in the case of guys suffering from impaired testicular function.
As such, it can restore testosterone to “normal”. There’s no evidence that it raises T-count in healthy guys.13
Studies do indicate that Tongkat can improve the ability of sperm to “swim”, although this was when a dose of 300 mg was delivered. Considering this ingredient is listed last, meaning, it has the lowest dosage, it’s rather unlikely there’s that much Tongkat in this supplement.14
Listen up.
There are some immense T-boosters on the market—and they have one factor in common. They contain nothing but an absolute gamut of scientifically proven T-enhancing ingredients.
To really put this supplement to the test in this Alpha Prime review, I’ve drawn up a list of the most immense testosterone elevating compounds. These are ingredients that the most effective T-raising products on the market include.
This is how Alpha Prime stands up:
- ✘D-aspartic acid
- ✘Vitamin D-3
- ✘Zinc
- ✘Vitamin B6
- ✘Bioperine
- ✘Ginseng
- ✘Fenugreek extract
- ✘Vitamin K1
- ✘Nettle Leaf Extract
- ✘Boron
- ✘Magnesium
Not one of the top-rated T-boosting ingredients is included. That, is concerning.
This supplement concentrates so heavily on lowering estrogen that it completely ignores elevating testosterone.
Admittedly, this product does include some compounds which may improve the testosterone to estrogen balance. But, the effects will be so minimal to remain unnoticed.
As you can see from the nutrition label—you may as well eat a leafy salad instead—it will most likely produce the same effect (and work out cheaper).
The Alpha Prime review of the ingredients in brief:
There are no compounds to boost testosterone production—what I would consider essential in a testosterone booster.
Alpha Prime Side Effects
Natural supplements are attractive as they’re usually unlikely to cause adverse health problems. However, this comes with a proviso.
Even natural occurring ingredients can be dangerous when consumed to excess—and this is where I have an issue with the ATP Alpha Prime side effects.
With none of the compounds quantified—you have no idea how much you’re consuming. This is alarming.
Furthermore, be careful when consuming Tongkat Ali.
In 2016, experts indicated it should be treated with caution. They stressed the further investigation is required to fully understand the long-term dangers of supplementing with this ingredient.15
Additionally, a study of 100 supplements including Tongkat Ali indicated dangerously high levels of mercury. Too much of which can result in poisoning.16 17
Alpha Prime Before After Results
The examination of the ingredients in this Alpha Prime review has so far indicated that this supplement is very disappointing.
But, what are the guys using this supplement experiencing? Have they found that their T-levels have gone stratospheric and they’re piling on muscle mass on like crazy?
Here’s what users of Alpha Prime have been reporting:
“Almost finished one bottle of Prime and I’ve noticed a difference in body composition where I don’t have as much fluid retention.”
B Chow
“I recently went on Alpha Prime and I am beginning to feel like myself again. My relationship has benefitted as well. An incredible product.”
D
“2-3 weeks so far and no noticeable positive changes. I’ve had an upset stomach but I’m hoping it’s not related and I’ve had unexplained hives. I probably won’t purchase again unless there is a miracle in the next few weeks.”
Sab
“One month of use and I feel like the same person I did before I started. No improvements in energy, strength, fat loss, or libido. I do get more headaches but whether that’s related I dunno.”
L Chegwin
“Think I might have wasted my money. No gains, no bigger stamina, no better erections just a larger hole in my bank balance that’s it.”
P Hardcastle
“Tastes like funny eggs. Plus it’s made no difference to my workouts. Should have chosen a better product than this. Gonna switch once this bottle’s finished”.
J Maya
Although there are some positive reviews, it appears that generally, the Alpha Prime results are extremely disappointing.
Where to Buy Alpha Prime?
If this Alpha Prime review has made you consider purchasing this supplement, you can shop for it on the official ATP Science website.
Furthermore, it’s also available from luckyvitamin.com, Amazon, and elitesupps.com.
Alpha Prime Review Conclusion
Let me start off this Alpha Prime review with at least some praise.
Credit has to be given, I guess, to ATP Science for trying something a little novel. Innovation should always be welcomed in nutritional supplementation as it’s how quantum leaps are made.
Unfortunately, it’s not enough in this case.
Despite including some compounds which may have a beneficial effect in lowering estrogen—lack of research, underdosing, and a questionable proprietary blend all work against this product.
What’s more—the absence of any proven T-enhancing ingredients, in what’s touted to be a T-booster, is somewhat ironic.
The bottom line.
Missing every one of the 11 most effective testosterone enhancing compounds—forget about this product. It’s not going to improve your returns. Instead, select only T-enhancing supplements which include the ingredients listed earlier.
