Quite a statement if you ask us! The best way for our MTS Drop Factor review to assess whether Marc is full of shit…? You guessed it—a closer look at the ingredients and their dosages. But before we do, let’s check out how MTS Nutrition suggests you consume this product for optimal effect!
How to use it?
- Start with ONE Capsule Drop Factor upon waking.
- Once you can tolerate one capsule, increase to one capsule upon waking and one capsule 6-8 hours later (NOT to be within 5 hours of bedtime).
- Once you can tolerate the above dose, add one capsule to the morning dose for two capsules in the AM and one capsule 6-8 hours later.
- Once you can tolerate the above dose, add one capsule to the afternoon dose for two caps in the AM and two capsules 6-8 hours later.

With the briefest of glances at the Supplement Facts Label, you can answer probably the most important question about the ingredients of any nutritional supplement product on the market. Does it contain any proprietary blends?
If you know what a proprietary blend is and why they’re bad news then great! For those of you that don’t, they are a mix of ingredients where the total weight of the blend is disclosed but the individual quantities of each component ingredient are not. This means you have no idea how much of anything you are actually consuming and is usually a sure fire sign of underdosed key ingredients! Avoid products which use proprietary blends at all costs.
The good news for this MTS Drop Factor review is that all of the most important ingredients have their dosages disclosed, with only a few fruit and veg powders contained within a “Healthy Orac blend.”
All of the dosages quoted below are based on a 2 capsule serving.
Caffeine anhydrous- 250 mg
By far, the most common thermogenic ingredient has to be caffeine.
Its purported fat-burning benefits lie in its stimulatory properties, and by increasing your adrenaline levels, it helps to liberate fatty acids from stores all around your body, making them available for use as fuel.[1]
What makes caffeine such a popular inclusion in fat-burning supplements is that it has a thermogenic effect even at low doses. In fact, studies have demonstrated that 100 mg is capable of inducing a thermogenic effect at rest, increasing the resting metabolic rate by 3-4% over a 150 minute period.[2]
All of this means that the 250 mg dose in every 2 capsule serving of Drop Factor will absolutely be of benefit to your fat burning goals! Unfortunately, if you end up taking the recommended 4 capsule serving, you’re going to be consuming 500 mg of caffeine per day, which is far in excess of the ceiling for safe intake recommended by most health professionals.
Cayenne pepper- 150 mg
There is one compound within cayenne pepper that is vital for fat burning, and that’s capsaicin. This has been shown to boost thermogenesis by increasing your production of hormones like adrenaline whilst also suppressing your appetite.[3]
Scientific research has shown that capsaicin supplements can boost metabolism by up to 50 kcals a day which, over an extended period of time, has the capacity to result in significant weight loss.[4]
The 150 mg serving in MTS Drop Factor is actually over our preferred dosage of 100 mg, so it should absolutely be of benefit to your weight management goals!
Coleus forskohlii- 125 mg
Coleus Forskohlii (a root herb) contains a primary active ingredient called forskolin, which is believed to help promote a desirable body composition (i.e., help you lose weight)
How? Well, in 4 major ways:
- By optimizing the hormonal regulation of your metabolism;
- By inducing thermogenesis;
- By promoting anabolic muscle growth (the more muscle you have, the higher your basal metabolic rate);
- Activating an enzyme called protein kinase stimulates lipase, helping in the breakdown of body fat stores.[5]
Studies in human supplementation are limited but promising, with some research indicating that prolonged consumption of 500-700 mg per day can improve body composition, particularly in overweight subjects.[6]
The limited nature of the research so far means it is hard for us to judge whether the 125 mg serving of Forskolin in this MTS Drop Factor fat burner product will be effective or not, but it is obviously quite away; short of the effective dosage quoted in the study above!
Cocoa seed extract- 250 mg
There is little, if any, scientific evidence suggesting that supplementing with cocoa extract can positively influence your weight management or fat-burning goals, which is why we consider the 250 mg dose in this MTS Drop Factor product almost entirely irrelevant!
Theacrine- 62.5 mg
Theacrine is an alkaloid structurally similar to caffeine, and preliminary evidence suggests that it activates similar signaling pathways. However, there is very little research into the efficacy of this ingredient for fat burning. Hence, it’s hard for our Drop Factor by MTS Nutrition review to assess how beneficial this dose of Theacrine will be.
Black pepper extract- 5 mg
As far as fat burning is concerned, the key ingredient within Black pepper extract is called piperine. This is a thermonutrient, which has been suggested to assist with weight control.
By optimizing thermogenesis, piperine increases energy expenditure. It is also purported to promote efficient food metabolism, including the enhancement of nutrient absorption and inhibit the formation of new fat cells.
We consider a 10 mg serving per day an optimum dose which means this MTS Drop Factor fat burner supplement comes up short per 2 capsule serving. If, however, you follow the advised protocol on the MTS website, the 4 capsules daily dosage suggested after the initial week will give you the 10 mg you’re after.
Yohimbe extract- 2.5 mg
Yohimbe extract may be effective as a thermogenic supplement due to its effect on the activity of hormones including adrenaline, noradrenaline, and dopamine, which play a role in boosting your metabolism.[7]
While scientific research has produced mixed results, there are individual studies that corroborate the theory that Yohimbe is of benefit to fat burning. For example, a 3-week study into soccer players revealed that a daily dose of 20 mg of Yohimbe extracts significantly reduced body fat and fat mass compared to a control group.[8]
Unfortunately, neither the 2.5 mg per 2 capsule dose or 5 mg per 4 capsule dose comes anywhere near the 20 mg per day which has been shown to be of benefit, which means the inclusion of yohimbe in this MTS Drop Factor product is largely a waste of time!
Drop Factor benefits
Certain ingredients in this MTS Drop Factor supplement are proven fat burners and are dosed at the requisite level to have this effect.
Caffeine, cayenne pepper, and black pepper extract will help induce thermogenesis and kick your metabolism to burn more calories and, ultimately, fat.
However, as with any nutritional supplement, this product contains several ingredients with limited, if any, scientific research to corroborate their purported effectiveness and others that may be effective but grossly underdosed!
Drop Factor side effects
The only ingredient you need to pay attention to when it comes to side effects in MTS Drop Factor is caffeine. The 250 mg dose in a 2 capsule serving shouldn’t cause too many issues unless you have a low tolerance level, in which case you may experience diarrhea, vomiting, jitters, and even anxiety.
The 500 mg in each daily 4 capsule serving, on the other hand, is likely to elicit negative symptoms in even the most hardened of stimulant users and is, in fact, more than what most health professionals consider safe for daily consumption!
Yohimbe can generate some unwanted side effects, but the serving in this product is so low that this shouldn’t be of concern.
Is it a scam?
Unlikely! The product contains enough proven ingredients at meaningful doses to mean that it is not a scam. That doesn’t mean, however, that it is as effective at helping you to burn fat as you might want it to be!

Summary
So, how does our Drop Factor review summarise this product…? Well, given the inclusion of multiple ingredients proven to help boost your metabolism at the requisite dosage to do so, it is probably fair to say that Drop Factor will benefit your fat-burning goals to some extent, at least.
This product falls in the use of ingredients that have no evidence to support their benefits or the use of ingredients that may be helpful but don’t feature in the right quantity to be!
As far as cost is concerned, MTS Drop Factor falls somewhere around average, with plenty of fat burner supplements out there that will cost you more and plenty which will cost you less!
Our final verdict…? If you’re looking for an incredibly potent fat burner with every single ingredient scientifically proven and optimally dosed, then this probably isn’t for you, but then again, that’s going to set you back a whole lot more than 72 cents per serving. That doesn’t mean this MTS Drop Factor supplement won’t help you reach your goals, though!
