In this Sheer Thermo Review, we will be giving you all the details you need on the fat-burning supplement called Sheer Thermo.
Sheer Thermo from the company Sheer Strength is a fat-burning supplement designed to provide a thermogenic effect in the body, burn more calories, and increase energy. Sheer Thermo comes in capsule form and contains seven ingredients such as caffeine, green tea, 5-HTP, and more.
Here’s the deal:
As far as nutritional supplements are concerned, few generate more controversy than fat burners. Unfortunately, the combination of a lack of responsible regulation and the desire of vast numbers of people to lose weight, and fat in particular, by any means possible, has led to an array of synthetically produced fat-burning supplements that can be dangerous; to your health!
Now:
Consequently, it is vitally important that you have the right knowledge about these products to make an informed decision as to whether they are safe for you to consume and whether they actually contain any ingredients that will help you burn more fat whilst exercising!
That’s where we come in! Our Sheer Strength Thermo review is designed to give you the tools to make the correct decision for your training and weight loss goals, whilst ensuring that this particular fat burner is safe for you to consume.
Everything you need to know from where to buy it and how much it costs to a detailed breakdown of the ingredients included and their dosages compared to the latest scientific research.

But before we do, how do Sheer Strength Labs recommend you consume this supplement for optimum effect…?!
How to use it?
Take one capsule first thing upon waking up and one capsule at lunch. Easy!

If you’ve read any of our other fat burner or pre-workout reviews, you probably know by now that the first question we ask ourselves about the ingredients in all of them is… “are there any proprietary blends?”
A proprietary blend is a mixture of ingredients where the total blend weight is disclosed but not the precise quantities of each individual component. This means you have no idea how much of anything you are consuming, with manufacturers often hiding underdosed ingredients from you within them! Not cool!
Fortunately for this Sheer Thermo review, there isn’t a single proprietary blend included.
The dosages quoted below are based on a 2 capsule daily serving.
Green tea extract- 334 mg
The weight management, specifically, fat-burning benefits of green tea, are well documented. Most scientific research points to high antioxidant levels known as EGCG and caffeine content as the key components for such effects.
Studies have demonstrated that supplementing with green tea, and in particular with ECGC can increase energy expenditure and stimulate fat oxidation.[3] The mechanism behind this physiological response is thought to involve the inhibition of an enzyme called catechol-o-methyltransferase, which degrades noradrenaline. By prolonging the action of noradrenaline, overall energy expenditure and fat burning in particular can be increased.[4]
There isn’t really an optimum dose for green tea extract as of yet. The 334 mg contained in this Sheer Strength supplement is a little shy of our preferred 500 mg serving, though!
Rhodiola Rosea extract- 300 mg
Rhodiola Rosea is a herb, which grows at high altitudes in the arctic areas of Asia and Eastern Europe.
Its purported benefits are believed to be fourfold:
- Helps to lower cortisol (increases under stress) which is harmful to the body;
- Fights depression and improves brain function;
- Supports weight loss and helps to burn visceral and belly fat; and
- Increases energy and athletic performance while reducing mental and physical fatigue.[1]
Rhodiola’s most active compound, rosavin, has been shown to trigger a fat-burning response. Because it helps normalize cortisol levels, it may also reduce cravings for unhealthy food and delay fat accumulation linked to high cortisol levels.
The recommended dose seems to be between 250-700 mg per day, which means the 300mg serving in this Sheer Strength Labs product comes in absolutely spot on! Good start![2]
Coleus forskohlii- 250 mg
Coleus Forskohlii, a root herb containing a primary active ingredient called forskolin, is believed to help promote weight loss.
The physiological mechanisms behind such an effect are thought to be fourfold:
- Hormonal regulation of your metabolism;
- Thermogenesis;
- Anabolic muscle growth (the more muscle you have, the higher your basal metabolic rate);
- Activation of an enzyme called protein kinase stimulates lipase, helping in the breakdown of body fat stores.[5]
Whilst studies in human supplementation are few and far between, little research has produced promising results, with some studies indicating that prolonged consumption of 500-700 mg per day can improve body composition, particularly in overweight subjects.[6]
That means the 250 mg dose contained in this Sheer Strength Labs Sheer Thermo supplement is probably a little shy of where it needs to be to have an effect on your weight management goals!
Caffeine anhydrous- 200 mg
Caffeine’s fat-burning potential lies in its stimulatory properties. Increasing adrenaline levels and helping to liberate fatty acids from fat stores around the body can help make this fat available for use as fuel.[7]
Studies have found that even a low dose (100mg) has the potential to induce a thermogenic effect at rest, increasing the resting metabolic rate by 3-4% over a 150 minute period.[8]
It’s easy to see why caffeine is probably THE most commonly found stimulant ingredient in nutritional supplements!
The 200 mg serving in Sheer Thermo is therefore, definitely going to be enough to elicit the thermogenic response we’re looking for, and should achieve such results without some of the potential negative side effects associated with very high caffeine consumption.
Bacopa monnieri- 85 mg
There is no scientific research into the capacity of this nootropic herb to boost weight loss or fat burn, with most of its potential benefits related to cognitive performance and memory in particular.
As a result, our Sheer Thermo review considers its inclusion in this product largely inconsequential.
5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan)- 150 mg
5-HTP is an amino acid produced naturally by your body. It is used to produce serotonin, a chemical messenger that sends signals between your nerve cells.[9]
Low serotonin levels have been linked with depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, weight gain and a number of other health problems which is why increasing your body’s production of serotonin is considered to have potential health benefits.[10]
As far as weight loss is concerned, 5-HTP may help to act against the hormones responsible for feelings of hunger, suppressing appetite and thus helping you consume fewer calories and therefore lose weight.
Scientific studies have demonstrated that supplementation with 5-HTP helped individuals consume, on average, 435 fewer calories per day. This significant impact on calorie intake is obviously capable of having a major effect on weight loss.[11]
For weight management purposes, the recommended dose of 5-HTP is 250-300 mg 30 minutes before meals.[12] That means the 150 mg serving in this Sheer Strength Labs fat burner is a little shy of optimum, but it may still be effective.
Yohimbine- 3 mg
Yohimbe extract is being increasingly taken as a thermogenic supplement due to its impact on the activity of several important hormones, including adrenaline, noradrenaline, and dopamine, which play a role in boosting your metabolism.[13]
As with most herbal ingredients, scientific research has produced mixed results.
There are individual studies, however, which demonstrate the positive effect of Yohimbe on fat burning. A 3-week study using soccer players, for instance, demonstrated that a 20 mg yohimbine supplement taken every day significantly reduced body fat and fat mass in comparison to a control group. Those exposed to the supplement experienced an average increase in body mass of 1.2kg but a reduction in fat mass of 2%, equating to an increase in lean muscle mass of 2.5%.[14]
That means the 3 mg dose contained in one 2 capsule serving of Sheer Thermo is way off the servings used above. Disappointing!
Sheer Thermo benefits
There are plenty of ingredients in this product at the right kind of doses to benefit your weight loss and fat-burning goals.
Solid, if not quite optimum, servings of Rhodiola Rosea, green tea extract, caffeine, and 5-HTP, should be enough to boost your metabolism and help you break down more fat. The only real shame is that ingredients like yohimbine and coleus forskohlii aren’t dosed at the kind of levels they are effective at!
Sheer Thermo side effects
There shouldn’t really be any issues with side effects when taking this Sheer Strength Labs product. Whilst ingredients such as caffeine and yohimbine are associated with some negative symptoms, the dose of both shouldn’t be sufficient to cause them.
If you have a particularly low tolerance to caffeine, the 200 mg serving may result in some minor side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and jitters. As a result, we’d recommend starting with a single capsule dose to test the waters! The fact that you are never actually taking the whole 200 mg serving in one go should also help to negate any potential negatives.
Is it a scam?
No, absolutely not!

- “Not sure if it’s water weight or not, but it does a great job curving my appetite — I am also watching what I eat when I do eat… trying to stick to protein & vegetables… But so far so good, I am a terrible snacker at work – so this has been helping … I have taken it for only a few day s- hoping that I see great results with it!”
- Linda Moore- 5 stars, 08/08/2018:
- “This product works. I used the premium thermogenesis fat burner in conjunction with diet and exercise I lost all the weight I had gained during my last two pregnancy. I lost a total of 50 pounds and my stomach is flatter than before I got pregnant the first time. I still use this product as I’m wanting to lose about another 8 pounds of fat and obtain a little more muscle and muscle definition.”
- Jodi cox- 4 stars, 08/10/2018:
- “I only took one capsule and it definitely suppressed my appetite but the caffeine really made me a jittery mess. So I didn’t dare take the second capsule. I gave it to a coworker and they weren’t jittery at all.”

Summary
All in all, this has been a pretty positive Sheer Thermo review. The product contains many well-researched ingredients in meaningful quantities that will absolutely help you lose weight and burn more fat alongside regular exercise and a healthy diet.
There are, admittedly, some questionable dosages and at least one ingredient included, which doesn’t have any scientific research to suggest its efficacy for weight loss. Given the very reasonable cost per serving, however, you are unlikely to get a product that features only well-researched ingredients at the correct dosages. Unfortunately, the world of nutritional supplements and fat burners doesn’t work in that way!
