Before we focus on the specifics of ingredients and precise dosages, there is one important piece of information that can be garnered from a brief look at the Supplement Facts Label, which will give you an instant indication of the merits of this product!
Does it contain good ingredients in sufficient dosages?
When looking at the ingredients lineup we see that Vintage Burn contains some proven ingredients such as Caffeine and Green Leaf Extract.
The lineup of ingredients is passable, however, there is room for improvement.
The biggest downfall of the formula is that doesn’t have Glucomannan, Cayenne, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, or 5-HTP which is included in many other top fat burners on the market.
Overall it’s a decent formula with some solid ingredients but it could be better!
FYI, the dosages quoted below are based on a full 4 capsule daily serving as recommended by the supplement protocol on the official Old School Labs website.
Green tea leaf extract- 660 mg
The fat loss benefits of green tea are pretty well known and relate to the high levels of an antioxidant known as EGCG (the major catechin found in green tea), as well as its caffeine content.
In a 12 week study of overweight males, consumption of ECGC was associated with far greater reductions in body weight, body fat and visceral fat in comparison to the placebo groups. The mechanism behind these results is thought to involve the inhibition of an enzyme, which degrades noradrenaline. By prolonging the action of this hormone, overall energy expenditure and fat burning, in particular, can be increased, all of which should lead to tangible weight loss.
There is, as yet, no real agreement on an optimal dose of green tea extract for fat-burning purposes but we consider the 660 mg dose in Vintage Burn pretty much spot on and a little in excess of the industry standard 500 mg dose!
Green coffee bean extract- 540 mg
Green coffee bean extract comes from coffee beans that haven’t been roasted. Coffee beans contain compounds known as chlorogenic acids which some suggest having antioxidant effects, which help lower blood pressure and may help you lose weight.
There is, however, limited scientific research to support any theories about green coffee extract and weight loss and more research needs to be conducted before we can be sure that it is both safe for human consumption in the long term and effective at boosting weight loss.
Raspberry ketones- 400 mg
Raspberry ketone is a natural substance that gives red raspberries their powerful aroma and is also found in small quantities in other fruits and berries such as blackberries, cranberries, and kiwis.
The raspberry ketones you find in nutritional supplements, however, are not actually sourced from raspberries but are synthetically produced. This is because you’d need a whole lot of raspberries to produce the tiniest thimble of ketones!
Whilst there are animal studies, which suggest that raspberry ketones may help in preventing weight gain (as opposed to promoting weight loss), there isn’t a single human study that corroborates theories that they aid in weight loss, or fat burning more specifically!
As a result, we consider the inclusion of a serving of raspberry ketones in this product, whatever the quantity, largely inconsequential to our Vintage Burn review.
Olive leaf extract- 320 mg
There have been studies conducted on animals that have demonstrated that the oleuropein contained within olive leaf extract has the potential to reduce body weight. However, there have been limited, if any, human studies into its effect, so it is impossible for our Old School Labs fat burner review to determine whether the 320 mg dose in this product is going to be of benefit or not.
Caffeine- 300 mg
The theory behind caffeine’s fat-burning benefits lay in its purported stimulatory properties and the subsequent impact on adrenaline levels, which can help to liberate fatty acids from stores all around your body, making them available for use as fuel.
What makes caffeine such a popular inclusion in multi-ingredient nutritional supplements is the fact that it has a thermogenic effect even at low doses. In fact, studies have demonstrated that 100 mg is capable of inducing a thermogenic effect at rest, increasing the resting metabolic rate by 3-4% over a 150 minute period.
All of this means that the 330 mg dose in a 4 capsule daily serving of Vintage Burn will absolutely be of benefit to your fat burning goals! Whilst potent, spread across 2 servings, the 300 mg dose shouldn’t cause you too many of the issues associated with high caffeine consumption either!
Bacopa leaf extract- 260 mg
There is no scientific research into the capacity of this nootropic herb to boost weight loss or fat burn, with most of its potential benefits related to cognitive performance and memory in particular.
As a result, our Vintage Burn fat burner review considers its inclusion in this product largely inconsequential.
Garcinia fruit extract- 200 mg
Garcinia cambogia is native to India and Southeast Asia and the rind of its fruit contains a chemical called hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which has been studied for its effect on appetite.
Reliable studies to suggest that supplementing with garcinia cambogia will help you lose weight or burn more fat are few and far between, with most research to date indicating positive results as far as blood cholesterol is concerned but not weight loss.
As a result, it is impossible for us to assess the dosage contained in this Old School Labs Vintage Burn supplement, and consequently we consider its inclusion largely irrelevant for the purposes of this review.
Chrysin- 200 mg
Chrysin belongs to a class of chemicals called flavonoids which occur naturally in plants such as the passionflower, silver linden, and some geranium species.
There is absolutely no scientific evidence to suggest that supplementing with chrysin may be beneficial to weight loss or fat burning and therefore, our Vintage Burn review considers its inclusion in this product irrelevant!
Forskohlii root extract- 120 mg
Coleus Forskohlii is a root herb that is the only natural source of its primary active ingredient: forskolin, which is thought to be of benefit to body composition in the following ways:
- By optimizing the hormonal regulation of your metabolism;
- By promoting thermogenesis.
- By increasing anabolic muscle growth; and
- By activating an enzyme called protein kinase, which stimulates lipase and thus helps in the breakdown of fat stores.
As far as the science is concerned regarding human supplementation with forskolin, studies are limited but promising with some research indicating that prolonged consumption of 500-700 mg per day is capable of improving body composition, particularly in overweight subjects.
The limited nature of the research so far means it is hard for us to judge whether the 120 mg serving of forskohlii extract in this Vintage Burn fat burner product will be effective or not.
Old School Labs Vintage Burn benefits
There are probably only 2 scientifically researched ingredients that have been proven to aid in weight loss included at meaningful doses in this Vintage Burn fat burner. Both green tea extract and caffeine should help to induce thermogenesis and boost your fat-burning potential as a result.
Everything else which features in this product, however, is included without the kind of scientific research we would like to support their efficacy!
Vintage Burn side effects
The only ingredient in this Old School Labs-produced supplement that you need to be concerned about as far as side effects are concerned is caffeine.
A 300 mg daily serving is fairly significant and has the potential to cause symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, jitters, and even anxiety. The fact this dosage is consumed across 2 servings and most of the day should limit the probability of such reactions, but if you are at all new to caffeine supplementation or have a low resistance level then be sure to assess your tolerance as advised in the directions for use highlighted above!
How to use it?
“As a dietary supplement, healthy men and women take 1 capsule twice a day with meals for 3 days to assess tolerance. Continue with 2 capsules twice a day with meals. Avoid taking on an empty stomach or less than 4 hours before bedtime and do not exceed the recommended dosage… For best results, use for 60 days in combination with diet and exercise.”
We always like it when supplement manufacturers advise healthy eating and exercise alongside their fat-burning products. It makes it clear that their heads aren’t in the clouds and neither should yours. There isn’t a fat-burning supplement out there, which is going to miraculously dissolve those excess pounds without some kind of input from YOU!

Vintage Burn price and where to buy?

Summary
A kind of mixed Old School Labs Vintage Burn review, to be honest.
In green tea extract and caffeine, this product contains two of the fat burner staples in meaningful quantities, which will absolutely help to boost your thermogenesis and should therefore promote weight loss.
There are 7 other ingredients that feature, however, which have very limited, if any, scientific evidence to support their efficacy for weight loss and fat burn. That’s a whole lot of wasted space which you’re paying good money for.
Having said that, this product does achieve one of the better Amazon customer ratings of any fat burner supplement we have reviewed so it would be harsh to criticize too heavily. Note, however, some of the reviews which complaint of some of the nasty side effects we mentioned in our own review!
All in all, this product may be worth giving a go and should have some kind of effect on your weight management. Just be prepared for some unwanted side effects, and don’t expect much assistance from 75% of the ingredients included!
